The 2009 “Mural City Art Fest” begins its 4th year with an evening of music performed by faculty and students of the John M. Long School of Music of Troy University.

The concert will feature art song and folk song settings by Aaron Copeland, Edward MacDowell, Lee Hoiby, John Duke, Stephen Foster and others. Featured artists include, Dr. Catherine Allard, Dr. Michael Hix, Dr. Margaret Jackson and Troy University students.

Come join us this year for "Praise Fest", an evening of worship lead by Dothan's teenagers. The event will be held in historic Poplar Head Park from 6:308:00 PM in downtown Dothan. Come hear live worship and experience creative dramas performed by a number of youth teams from around the Wiregrass. We invite every Student Ministry to join us for this incredible evening of worship.

An "uber hip experience"! This year's lineup promises just that as the Chad Fisher Group, nationally recognized in both the progressive and contemporary jazz scenes, headlines the show. Also featured are the Chris Hodges Band, known for their smooth classical sounds, and the delightful bluesy sounds of Bruce Brown and Friends. The Northview High School Jazz Band opens the show at 6:30.
Enjoy dinner from the Blue Moon Cafe (cajun) or D'Monico's Italian Gardens during the show.

Currently in its 4th year, the downtown street festival is a "Celebration of the Arts".

This year the festival includes a juried art show, fine & folk artists, glass blowing, dueling artists and puppet shows. There’s live music, dance and children's art activities that include collage making, beeswax candles and puppetry. There are performances of the “Wiregrass Symphony” by the TriState Community Orchestra at the Opera House, Horse & Buggy Rides. Stroll over to North Foster for the antique car show and see the changes as the revitalization continues.
